|Who is who|
The HEC – PAYT LIFE+ Environment Policy and Governance Project is an international collaboration among six organizations from 4 EU Member – States. The coordinating beneficiary is the Municipality of Elefsina in Greece, where a variable rate system will be implemented on a pilot scale.
Two of the associated beneficiaries come from Greece, while each of the remaining three come from Germany, Estonia and Cyprus, respectively.
The Institute of Waste Management and Contaminated Site Treatment (IAA) of the Dresden University of Technology contributes with its experience in research and implementation of PAYT systems. Additionally, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Hellas), Technomart Engineering & Project Consultants Ltd (Cyprus) and Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) have all conducted research in the field of waste management. Thus, part of their contribution is to aid in the successful implementation of PAYT systems, possessing the additional advantage of being familiar with the particular conditions of each country. Finally, Ecological Recycling Society will participate in the realisation of the project by conducting the national Greek study and through organising and running information, dissemination and sensitisation campaigns, as well as through providing scientific and research support.
