In this scheme the receptacles used for waste collection are belonging to a certain group of waste generators as they are either being subscribed by them or were directly assigned to this group. Who the actual generators of the waste (users of the waste services) are is being established by the way of identification devices attached to the receptacles.

requirement is that the receptacles for the waste collection are assigned to an individual waste generator (individually assigned bin) or to a group of waste generators with quite uniform waste disposal behavior and/or well working mechanisms of social control (collectively assigned bin).

Also in this scheme one can distinguish between arrangements with volume-based accounting (Ident systems) and weight-based accounting (Ident-weighing systems).
