In this type of arrangement the waste quantity generated and corresponding charges are usually being determined based on the assumption that the actual amount of waste is equal to the volume of the full receptacle. Therefore standardised receptacles (bins) of known volume are assigned to the waste generators whereas bin identification is the means to relate the volume of the emptied bin to the generator(s). Different solutions exist for the technical implementation. Conventional schemes with a marking of bins and manual recording or collection of the labels attached to it are more and more replaced by modern electronic solutions (bins equipped with a transponder or chip and collection vehicles with a reading device connected to a data logger or onboard computer). |
